THE Quinn family – which earned a fortune building a successful pet food company – has offloaded its art deco-style mansion at Tamborine Mountain in a multi-million dollar deal.
The property at 46-54 Curtis Rd and reminiscent of 1930s architecture, was sold through Robert Graham and Michael Willems of Ray White Prestige Gold Coast.
It had been due to go to auction on June 16.
Mr Graham declined to comment on the buyer or the sale price but the property had previously been on the market for $8.9 million.
The sale is likely to be a record for Tamborine Mountain, topping the $3.3 million paid in 2005 for a 19ha property at 364 Long Rd.

Christina and Tony Quinn, who built the VIP Petfoods empire before selling it for $410 million and buying Darrell Lea confectionery, are rich-list regulars.
They bought the Tamborine property from receivers for $1.25 million in 2011 when it was in an unfinished state and spent millions creating a palatial estate.

Features include an indoor aquatic centre pool, movie theatre, music room and formal dining room with high-end gold trimmings. Expensive fixtures include marble pillars and floors, chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Outside are manicured gardens, a tennis court, water features and the property even has its own chapel.
There is also a self-contained caretaker’s residence.
Work on the mansion started in 2007 after Kentmain, linked to developer Bob Sukic, bought the 2ha block.
The Quinns are no strangers to buying and selling property, with the couple owning a swag of high-end homes on the Gold Coast.
This year they sold a four-bedroom, riverfront mansion at 5839 The Parkway, Hope Island, for $1.8 million.
