BUNDLES of cash, handguns and money counting machines have been seized by police after a house was raided and car searched on the Gold Coast.
Major and Organised Crime Squad detectives pulled over a vehicle at Ashmore and found a bag with a large sum of cash about 8pm Tuesday, police said.
A 33-year-old man was arrested.
Officers then raided a Bundall property and searched a parked car, where they seized two cash counting machines, an additional sum of cash and two handguns, police said.
Two vehicles were also seized.
The total cash seized is just under $2 million.
A 33-year-old Bundall man has been charged with possessing tainted property. He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on December 10.
Investigations are continuing, and further charges are expected.
South East Region MOCS Acting Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said: “We are now investigating any possible links to money laundering and or serious organised crime syndicates who generate significant criminal revenue each year.
“I encourage anyone with information relating to persons involved in organised crime to contact Crime Stoppers.”
