THE Glitter Strip’s hosting of State of Origin Game Three has been billed as a “once in a lifetime opportunity” for Gold Coasters.

And it seems Queenslanders have taken the message on board, already snapping up more than half of the available tickets less than 24 hours since they went on sale.

An NRL spokesman said 12,000 tickets had now sold, with 10,000 left.

He warned footy fans to get in quick as there would not be any future ticket releases.

“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for locals to see the Origin on home turf,” the spokesman said.

“For Queenslanders, it’s an opportunity to restore some pride and ensure that the Blues don’t get a clean sweep.”
