Nikolaus Alexander Blyton pleads guilty to shooting Luke Tomlinson in the leg at Southport Magistrates Court

The man accused of shooting the son of a Gold Coast millionaire in the leg has pleaded guilty to the violent incident.

Nikolaus Alexander Blyton pleaded guilty in the Southport District Court on Wednesday to grievous bodily harm and dangerous conduct with the weapon.

Luke Tomlinson was shot in the leg on July 19, 2018 after being bundled into a car in Helensvale.

Mr Tomlinson was shot in the leg while in car and had to have leg amputated due to the injury.

The Paradise Point man is the son of Owen, a well known Gold Coast identity, having brought the Gold Coast Blaze National Basketball League team to town.

Tomlinson’s younger brother Sean is an extremely successful businessman, reportedly worth more than $100m dollars.

Other brother Ben is also successful and helped their father Owen launch the Blaze on the Coast.

He continued to own, train and breed race horses with Owen as late as 2015.

Blyton wore a tight, black Calvin Klein shirt and white jeans for his arraignment on Wednesday.

Blyton is expected to be sentenced on February 14 next year.
