NBN rollout Gold Coast: Eight suburbs waiting to be connected
More than 268,000 Gold Coast properties are already connected to the NBN while 1850 in these eight suburbs are still waiting. Here’s when the service will arrive.

FRUSTRATED residents and business owners in eight Gold Coast suburbs are among more than 100,000 across Australia to miss out on access to the network before its June deadline.
Already more than 268,000 Gold Coast properties are connected to the NBN but 1850 more are still waiting.
The NBN says that those properties will be connected before the end of the year.
Gold Coast suburbs not yet connected
- Advancetown: 70 premises due to be connected December 2020
- Kingsholme: 70 premises due to be connected November 2020
- Willow Vale: 500 premises due to be connected December 2020
- Guanaba, Wongawallan: 500 premises to be connected November 2020
- Bonogin: 290 premises due to be connected November 2020
- Bonogin: 20 premises due to be connected December 2020
- Mudgeeraba, Neranwood: 400 premises due to be connected December 2020
While thousands are still waiting, the network rollout is more than 99 per cent through and would “never be fully complete”, a spokesperson for the NBN said.
“There are 11.5 million Australian residential homes and businesses ready to connect to the network, and we have achieved this ahead of schedule,” the spokesperson said.
“The NBN rollout will never be fully complete. We will be perpetually rolling out the NBN to new premises and continuing to upgrade the network over time. We will continue to roll out the NBN and activate new and recently developed ‘greenfield’ premises and subdivided premises.”

The rollout confirmation comes as the NBN reveals there has been a groundswell of support for consumers looking to ‘buy local’.
According to a new survey conducted by the NBN 70% of participants stated they were now consciously supporting local businesses online.
