Gold Coast man in serious condition bitten on leg by snake on Surfers Paradise beachfront

A man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after being bitten by a snake on a popular Gold Coast beach.

A MAN is in a serious condition after being bitten by a snake just metres from Surfers Paradise beach on Wednesday afternoon.

Paramedics were called to the corner of Hanlan Street and the Esplanade at 1.25pm after the man in his 30s was bitten on the leg.

He was treated by lifesavers before paramedics arrived, Queensland Ambulance Media confirmed.

He has been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

It’s not known what kind of snake caused the bite.
