In a statement, Queensland Police confirmed it’d called to a Clear Island Waters residence at around 8am on Sunday morning. A 20-year-old man was arrested nearby and transported to Broadbeach station for questioning before he was released from custody without charge.
“A 20-year-old man was arrested around 8am following reports of trespassing at a Clear Island Waters property,” a police spokesman said.
“He was transported to Broadbeach police station for questioning and later released without charge. Investigations are still ongoing.”
The Titans released a statement on Sunday night.
“The Gold Coast Titans have been made aware of an incident involving one of the Club’s player,” he said.
“The NRL integrity unit have been notified.”
It comes just over a year after Fifita was arrested in Bali and sent to prison for three days before being released after a nightclub incident.
Fifita spent two nights behind bars after he allegedly hit security guard Dani Irawan in the early hours of Saturday morning at La Favela nightclub.
Fifita made plenty of waves this season when he signed with the Titans, moving on from the Brisbane Broncos for a three-year $3.5 million contract, making him one of the highest paid players in the league.
The 20-year-old has played 37 games over three seasons for Brisbane but revealed his decision midway through the Broncos’ horror season.
Fifita reportedly chose the Titans over the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
“It was a hard decision to make but I love the Gold Coast lifestyle and the beach,” Fifita said.
“I had an opportunity to go to Sydney but I didn’t want to go to Sydney.
“This (the Gold Coast) is only one hour away from my house in Brisbane, it’s what’s best for myself and my family.
“I have to look after my family and also with football, seeing how well the Titans did at the back end of the season and the boys that are coming on board, we can do something special.”
