A New Year’s Eve celebration has turned to horror, with a man left with serious injuries after an incident at Coomera.
Paramedics rushed to the Gold Coast City Council run event at Coomera Sports Park, Beattie Rd at 7.08pm to reports a man had been struck by a vehicle.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man, aged in his 20s, was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with head injuries.
Meanwhile, a young boy was also taken to Gold Coast University Hospital after being hit by a car on the corner of The Esplanade and Teal Avenue at 9.04pm, close to the Paradise Point New Year’s Eve event.
He is in a stable condition with a head injury.
