A BOY and a man have both suffered facial injuries after they were struck by a car at Main Beach this afternoon, reports Queensland Ambulance Service.

The primary school aged boy was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition, while the man aged in his 40s was transported in a stable condition.

Six ambulance units, including critical care paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit, were called to Waterways Dr just before 4pm.

Paramedics treated the boy and a man aged in his 40s at the scene about 4.30pm.

It did not appear that the pair suffered life threatening injuries in the incident, an ambulance spokeswoman said.

Queensland Police Service have not yet been able to provide any information.
