A truckie has managed to free himself from his overturned semi-trailer after it overturned just off the M1 this morning, spilling mulch and petrol.

The faces of Qld's 2020 road toll

A semi-trailer carrying mulch has rolled, crashing over a road barrier in Loganholme Friday morning.

The driver had left an overpass, just off the Pacific Motorway’s exit 31, and was on a side road headed to the Logan Motorway on-ramp, near the Clarks Road intersection, when it flipped on its side with the man still inside about 9.20am.
Emergency services personnel on the scene said the driver managed to get out of the big rig before running to a nearby house on Clarendon Street for help.

Police said as fuel was leaking from the truck, traffic was redirected to Drews Rd.

The Department of Main Roads and Transport urge motorists to proceed with caution, although no delays are expected.

Damage to the cement barrier can be seen at the rear of the Mack-brand truck, with the cab and trailers completely on its side.

The driver was suffering from shock and was taken to the Logan Hospital in stable condition.
