Man dies in serious truck crash in Brisbane's south

A man has died at the scene of a serious truck and car crash in Brisbane’s south, which saw the car catch alight after impact.

Police have confirmed a man has died at the scene of a serious truck and vehicle crash south of Brisbane, as the the Forensic Crash Unit begins investigations.

A man has died following a head-on crash between a truck and Mazda along King Avenue, near Inala Avenue, Durack, at 1.30pm yesterday.

The Mazda caught alight as a result of the crash.

The driver of the Mazda sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact police.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.

The intersection of Inala Ave and King Ave was blocked and police put diversions in place for several hours, with motorists advised to avoid the area and to expect delays.

Local resident Kadar Mohammed said he received a call from his mother after the crash as she was worried he might have been involved.

He said she had heard a young man had been killed.
