A Logan mum has described the tragic moment her heart “shattered into a million pieces” after her longtime partner died in a motorbike crash just doors from their family home.

Jonathon Lee King was killed after his motorbike crashed into the back of a parked car on Ewing Rd at Woodridge about 4.45pm on July 12.

Mr King had just turned 30. He was a father-of-three with his partner of 13 years, Caitlin Turner, said he was the love of her life.

“I heard about the accident from a neighbour. I was running down to the accident scene and just started screaming and crying my heart just shattered to a million pieces and was in shock,” Ms Turner said.

“The accident happened two doors down from home.

“He just went for a normal ride on his motorbike and he’s just moved to the left side of the road and didn’t see a parked car until it was too late.

“The past week has been a struggle as Jonathon was my whole life.

“The children are sad and upset, taking it hard as they were close to Jonathon, their dad.”

Ms Turner said her partner, who was a Queensland Maroons and Brisbane Broncos fanatic, had a “heart of gold”.

“He will be missed very much as Jonathon saw the best in everyone and he touched so many lives,” she said.

“What made him special was his quirky personality and his sense of humour.

“Jonathon wore his heart on his sleeve.

“Me and Jonathon, ‘Jono’, had been together for 13 years.

“What made me like him was he was just himself and was bright and bubbly and his sense of humour.”

Police investigations into the crash are continuing.
