An elderly Logan man was allegedly caught by police with his pants down and genitals exposed in a daytime public park, a court has heard.

Beenleigh Magistrates Court heard on May 2 that police were patrolling the Kingston area on October 20, 2023 at 11am.

They patrolled Gould Adams Park and allegedly discovered Adrian Charles Edsall with his pants down and penis exposed.

Police allege Mr Edsall, from Kingston, said to the officers he was a “naturalist” and did not intend to expose himself to the public in that manner.

The elderly man was charged with one count of wilful exposure but refuted the accusations in court.

“I agree I was sitting in the car but I don’t agree I had my genitals exposed,” Mr Edsall said to the court.

The court heard he had no criminal history and Magistrate Terry Duroux listed the matter for review on May 8.

“I reject your plea of guilty, you pleaded guilty but you don’t agree to the charge,” said Magistrate Duroux.

“You can’t say ‘yes I did’ then ‘yes I didn’t’, The matter will now proceed to a trial.”
