Accused flatmate stabber in court for attempted murder

NAMED: A 54-year-old Beenleigh man charged with the attempted murder of his flatmate has fronted court for the first time after allegedly stabbing his flatmate in the chest during a heated argument.

A 54-year-old Beenleigh man charged with attempted murder has fronted court for the first time after allegedly stabbing his flatmate in the chest during a heated argument.

Jason John Wilson, 54, appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with attempted murder and possessing dangerous drugs.

It will be alleged Wilson stabbed his 48-year-old flatmate, Richard Walter Hollaway, in the chest during an argument at a unit block on George St, Beenleigh, about 6.40pm on Friday.

The 48-year-old was transported to the Logan Hospital were he remains in a stable condition.

The court heard Wilson was also charged with possessing cannabis on the same day of the alleged stabbing.

Wilson’s lawyer told the court her client would not be making an application for bail.

The magistrate ordered a brief of evidence be disclosed by June 7 and his matters were adjourned to June 22.
