HOTA will not only be a great place to view art – the new gallery will provide one of the best views of the Glitter Strip on the Gold Coast.
Photographs shown to councillors in a briefing at City Hall have highlighted the fantastic views of Surfers Paradise and the coastline from the new HOTA art gallery.
Newly elected councillors at a transport committee meeting yesterday were given a full update on the project which included photographs from the site and artist impressions from the project being built opposite the council chambers in Bundall.

Council officers said the scaffolding around the building was about to be removed with work on schedule to be completed by November 30.
But they admitted there were still challenges involving COVID-19 restrictions, which placed limits on the number of workers in site locations and some concerns about the supply of materials.
“As to completion, there are still some risks. As of today, there are not changes to the practical completion date,” an officer said.
The opening of the gallery is expected to occur “in early 2021” but a report suggests the date “may be impacted by those risks”.
“Given the continued uncertainty of the COVID-19 global pandemic and associated impacts, opening of the HOTA gallery in early 2021 remains a risk,” the report said.
A timeline shows the gallery’s food and beverage areas should be completed by February 2021 and the gallery opened a month later in March.
The $60 million gallery is part of a $280 million masterplan for the Home of the Arts designed to attract more tourists to the Coast by offering wider appeal for the city than its traditional drawcards like beaches and theme parks.
