Harry Triguboff leads list of Gold Coast figures in Forbes list of Australia’s 50 richest people

Several Gold Coasters have appeared on the lastest list of Australia’s 50 richest people - including one colourful figure who has made the cut for the first time in five years

CLIVE PALMER is among several Gold Coast residents who have been named in the Forbes Australia Rich list for 2019.

The Sovereign Island resident appears on the list for the first time since 2014 with an estimated fortune of $1.8 billion, placing him at No. 20.

Also making the list is Budds Beach resident Bob Ell. The developer appears in 30th spot with an estimated wealth of $1.42 billion.

Gerry Harvey is not far behind in 32nd spot with $1.35 billion.

‘High-rise’ Harry Triguboff, who has had a huge impact on the Gold Coast through development comapny Meriton, appears in second place on the list with a $9 billion fortune.

Also featuring on the list is hotel and pubs baron Bruce Mathieson, who lives on Albatross Ave, Marina Mirage owner Con Makris and Lang Walker, whose Walker Corporation plans a $1.2 billion development in Robina.

And proving that toys are not just child’s play, another Albatross Ave home-owner Manny Stul – who made his fortune from the company behind the Shopkins craze, Moose Toys – appears in 33rd spot with $1.3 billion to his name.
