Tomic, 25, made history last week when he became the first-ever star to quit the South African jungle on I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here Australia — three days in.

Tomic said he left to get back to training and playing but on Thursday night he indulged in a few hours’ clubbing in a VIP booth with mates at Sin City, in Surfers Paradise.

Days earlier on the TV show he lamented: “I missed the whole last year and I was just disappointed with myself.

“The last month and a half, training, doing the right things, playing, winning matches has got that energy back of where I need to be in my career.

“I have to take it on the chest like a man and get back into training now.”

Tomic told fellow celebs including boxer Anthony Mundine: “There is no point to me being here anymore, wasting unnecessary time for myself because I need to be out there playing and competing.”

Sin City clubgoers told the Bulletin Tomic even jumped on the Sin City mic at one point on Thursday night and yelled “I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here”.

“Yeah — he actually did that. It was quite funny,” one witness said.

I’m A Celebrity executive producer Alex Mavroidakis said Tomic had left the show “with our best wishes”.

“He’s a human being and he has every right to make his own decisions,” he said.

“He could have blossomed. He came to play — he really did. I just think he found it really wasn’t his thing.”

“He’s a very, very nice guy,” News Limited entertainment reporter Jonathon Moran said.

“What would have helped his tennis more is if he stayed in there and dealt with some of those demons that he’s shown to have.”

Tomic, who has become prone to controversial verbal volleys of late, caused a stir after quitting the show by saying Australia couldn’t win the Davis Cup without him — and the team and captain Lleyton Hewitt knew it.

Hewitt responded saying he doubted Tomic would be much help to the team, which lost to Germany in Brisbane yesterday, based on his current form.

Tomic’s most recent competitive outing on a tennis court was a tough third set loss in the final round of qualifying at the Australian Open.

Gold Coast hitting partner Cole Smith previously told the Bulletin Tomic trained hard on court and in the gym in the lead up to Australian Open qualifying and he believed he still had the hunger to be a top player again.

Tomic, a former prodigy who has earned $A7million in prizemoney and was once ranked 17 in the world, has recently dropped outside the top 150.
