Gold Coast weather: Winter heats up in the sunshine state
The Gold Coast got a break from its frosty winter with a warm start to the day today. And the good news is there’s more great weather on the way.

THE Gold Coast got a break from its frosty mornings with a hint of spring in the air today.
Some suburbs more than doubled the morning temperatures recorded yesterday.
In the hinterland the temperature had already reached 18C by 8.30am compared to just 8C at the same time yesterday.
Elsewhere on the Gold Coast conditions were equally warm.

At the Gold Coast Seaway the temperature hit 17C at 8am — a far cry from this August’s average morning temperature of 12C.
By 9am the temperature was already at a balmy 20C.
Coolangatta also recorded 20.5C at 9am — 5C hotter than the day before.
Overnight temperatures are expected to plummet down to 4C at Nerang, and 7C at Coolangatta and Coomera.

But more warm, sunny days are on the way, with temperatures forecast to hover between 21 and 26C throughout the weekend.
At Surfers Paradise tomorrow is set to reach 22C, it will be 23C on Saturday and will warm to 25C by Sunday.
Coomera can expect a top of 23C tomorrow, 24C on Saturday and a high of 26C by the end of the weekend.
Meanwhile at Coolangatta the temperature is likely to peak at 21C at lunchtime tomorrow, 23C on Saturday and 24C by Sunday.
