A Gold Coast singer has beaten out dozens of competitors to perform in the semi-finals at the Ekka Country Music Showdown.
Singer songwriter Georgia Knight will be one of just nine people in the open category who will belt out a tune at Queensland’s biggest agricultural show on Saturday in front of an expert panel of judges, including Golden guitar finalist Casey Barnes.
Ms Knight will perform two songs – an original song called Blind, as well as a Stealers Wheel cover of Stuck in the Middle with You – with the help of the show’s live backing band, Southwest.
“There’s lots of talent and it will be really hard,” Ms Knight said.
