Officers from the Crime and Intelligence Command’s Taskforce Maxima were deployed to the holiday destination after three members of the Mongols bikie gang were observed in the area.

Local Criminal Investigation Branch investigators and Water Police assisted, allegedly witnessing the known offenders engaging regularly with each other during the two-day operation.

The trio were charged with habitually consorting with a recognised offender.

A 28-year-old Ashmore man is also due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on November 3.

Meanwhile a Rochedale and Greenslopes man, aged 29 and 33, are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 3.

Detective Senior Sergeant Troy Lehmann said police made no apologies for “pursuing and disrupting” bikie gangs from undertaking their alleged illegal activities.

“The persistent pursuit of offences committed by OMCGs is in line with our commitment to make the Queensland community safe,” he said.

Another identified member of the Mongols OMCG seen on Hamilton Island was also issued with a pre-emptive consorting warning.
