Police have had a breakthrough after the horror massacre of 10 wallabies and kangaroos - by a vehicle allegedly deliberately driven at them.

Gold Coast Police have charged a Reedy Creek teenage male in relation to the killing which left locals disturbed at Worongary last weekend.

“Extensive investigations were conducted and found a Nissan Patrol allegedly drove through San Fernando Drive, Harry Mills Drive and The Pinnacle between September 8 to 10 in a manner to intentionally kill or cause serious injury to animals,” the Queensland Police statement said.

“An 18-year-old man has been charged with one count each of serious animal cruelty and driving without due care as well as three counts of fraud.”

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 12.”

Residents who came across the scene of kangaroos, joeys and wallabies littering the roadside told the Bulletin at the time is was deeply disturbing.
