Transport Minister Mark Bailey officially opened the Tugun to Bilinga section of the Cceanway today alongside Acting Mayor Donna Gates and area councillor Gail O’Neill.

It is the latest section of the project, which will create a continuous foreshore pedestrian and cycling pathway from Currumbin to Snapper Rocks.

Working in stages, the ‘missing link’ section began in July with the first section from the Bilinga Surf Life Saving Club to Surf Street opening in September.

Mr Bailey said the investment was “worth it.

“It is definitely worth it and this shows what happens when different levels of government work together,” he said.

“This is an ongoing project which we are working with the local government on.”

Cr Gates welcomed the completion of the extension.
