A GOLD Coast woman who went missing almost a fortnight ago has sadly been found dead in her car just over the Queensland-New South Wales border in a rural suburb of the Tweed.
On May 26, Queensland Police issued a statement seeking “urgent assistance” regarding the disappearance of Sue West, 70, from Highland Park on Friday, May 21.
Ms West, a much-loved member of the community, was last seen at Worongary Shopping Centre on Mudgeeraba Rd on the Friday and police raised concerns about her welfare.

Police have now confirmed Ms West was found deceased in the hatchback at Tomewin on Tuesday, June 1.
It’s understood a landowner came across the tragic scene.
There was nothing to indicate Ms West’s death was suspicious in nature, but police were not able to provide more information about the circumstances.
A report has been prepared for the coroner.
