Gold Coast drivers told to expect delays after cyclist accident at Arundel
Motorists faced long delays on one of the city’s busiest roads after accident chaos this morning.

MOTORISTS faced long delays on Brisbane Rd through Arundel after car accident chaos this morning.
One of the westbound lanes of the road was closed towards the M1 after a car and pushbike collided near AB Paterson College about 8.10am.
Police said the pair crashed near Marble Arch Way, with the lane closed as a precaution.
A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital with head and shoulder injuries under the care of the Queensland Ambulance Service High Acuity Response Unit.

At 8.50am drivers were still facing nearly 15 minute delays, with TransLink telling passengers to expect delays of up to 25 minutes for bus services in the area.
Traffic was also delayed in the eastbound lanes.
Traffic did not return to normal until almost 9.30am.

Meanwhile another cyclist has also been injured after riding into a car at Mermaid Beach this morning.
The man suffered a shoulder injury in the crash on the corner of Albatross Ave and Lavarack Rd shortly after 7am.
