ONE of the most controversial tower developments proposed for Palm Beach is now open for public consultation.
Experienced east coast developer H & F Property Group want to build a 14-storey tower on the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and 17th Ave which will have 78 units.
Public feedback on the tower is now open and runs until November 1.
As revealed earlier this year, the tower, which was designed by local firm Urbis, will sit immediately south of Sunland Group’s major Magnoli complex now under construction.
Its appearance is inspired by both the area’s famed beach houses and corner shops of the mid to late 20th century.

The earmarked site has been cleared for redevelopment and is currently being used as storage space for a tower development on a neighbouring site.
It will have 18 one-bedroom, 38 two-bedroom, 20 three-bedroom and two four-bedroom units.
Among its features are:
• A cafe sunk into the ground which will form part of the podium and look out over the beach.
• An elevated infinity pool with views of the ocean and a laneway which will run in front of it.
• A specialised surfboard storage room.
• An undercover outdoor cinema for residents with access to the pool.
It is just the latest in a range of towers planned or under construction along the Palm Beach section of the Gold Coast Highway.
