Police have charged three men after an alleged assault in the Gold Coast’s party precinct.
They will allege two New South Wales men, aged 28 and 30, were walking along The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise, about 2am when a fight broke out with another group of men.
Three men allegedly assaulted the two men before fleeing on foot.
Police arrested a 31-year-old Caboolture man, a 31-year-old Strathpine man and a 32-year-old Zillmere man a short distance away.
They were each charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst in company.
The two men were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening bruising and swelling.
The three men who were charged were bailed to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on July 11.
