Gold Coast could get first real beach club bar and party zone in new project

The Gold Coast could be set to get its first beach club bar and party zone as part of a new project still being kept strictly hush-hush.

A HOSPITALITY operator is on the cusp of starting work on what would be the Gold Coast’s first genuine world-class beach club bar and party zone.

The hush-hush project is still being finalised before approvals are greenlighted but ATG can reveal a 1000-capacity venue is envisioned at a beach-edge location being kept under wraps.

The operator behind the proposal tells ATG it will feature luxury cabanas, a DJ stage for international acts, drinks service on the beach and swimming pools.

It would rival overseas beach clubs in Bali and around the world if the operator gets to fulfil their vision.

The venue may well get the jump on beach club projects which have been proposed for the Gold Coast in recent years including one Broadbeach hospitality king Pat Gennari was planning.

Star Entertainment Group is also mulling plans for a beach club bar as part of a Sheraton Mirage redevelopment in Main Beach. That is part of its offer to State Government aimed at warding of a second casino on the Gold Coast.

The operator of the proposed new venue says: “We’ll be bringing in big acts at times. It will be similar to what you would see overseas like (Indonesian beach clubs) Potato Head and Finns.

They hope to start work soon.

The operator, with a wealth of experience, says they have high hopes to be operating potentially by early in the new year.
