A new Southport cocktail bar is promising to put the art in martini with its twist on a traditional gallery experience.
Now open at Brickworks Ferry Rd, the upmarket FINEPRINTCO Art Bar is best described as an elegant cocktail bar set against the backdrop of an artisan gallery.
It is the work of Gold Coast business partners and gallery owners Leanne Pearce and Jasmine Smith.
“We wanted the art bar to offer a unique and vibrant space, combining art and hospitality, where guests can admire classic and contemporary art with a cocktail in hand,” Ms Pearce said.
“The space was designed to challenge the notion of a traditional art gallery.
“It is an elegant and sophisticated space that showcases the work of some of Australia’s most prominent and emerging artists.”
Mixologist Rumtin Nouzat has created a menu of European-inspired cocktails for guests to enjoy while surrounded by the work of renowned American photographer Slim Aarons.
“There really is nothing quite like it on the Gold Coast. With cocktails like ‘Life in the Bahamas’ and ‘Eye of the Beholder’, it pays tribute to some of Slim Aarons’ most iconic photographs,” Mr Nouzat said.
The bar is described as “ideal for sophisticated, intimate events” or a unique date night venue for couples.
It will also host events and workshops, including cocktail-mixing master classes and wine Wednesdays, and serve gin and tonic tasting boards.
The space is open Wednesday to Saturday from 1pm to 9pm.
