AN INDIVIDUAL working at a Gold Coast massage parlour has been the first person fined in the area after they allegedly failed to comply with the strict new measures put in place by the State Government to stop the spread of coronavirus.

A number of compliance checks have been run across the Coast in the last couple of days, but the person fined last night, after they allegedly failed to adhere to the social distancing rules, is the first to be hit with the $1334 fine.

It’s understood the Mermaid Beach business was warned about compliance, but was not fined.

Businesses that fail to meet the social distancing police risk being fined $6672.

More to come.
