A Gold Coast nail tech has become an online sensation even snagging the interest of world-famous fashion designer Marc Jacobs.

Mum-of-one Maddison Prosser said she was “blown away” when the man voted in Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World started commenting on the social-media videos made at her humble Arundel home salon.

“I’d been following him for a while, because he’s always got the really long, crazy nails on,” Ms Prosser said.

“Then out of the blue one day, he started following me – my clients and I lost it – it was crazy. Now he’ll comment on literally every single video.”

Ms Prosser’s nail design videos have amassed a following of more than one million people across TikTok and Instagram in just one year.

She said it all started with a simple idea that went viral, generating a million views on TikTok in 24 hours.

Now she’s helping others tap into their creative side.

“It’s just my partner and I and my home salon, so now we’re taking time next year to further this business more,” she said.

“We’ve got merchandise coming, press-on nails, we’re looking at opening a salon to run an in-person training facility and I offer online training on my website – we’re taking it next level.”

The 26-year-old said the power of social media had enabled her “a million per cent” in pursuing her goals.

“If I didn’t post that TikTok video I would still just be doing my regular clients,” she said.

“We’re not just limited to sitting down and doing clients all day long. There’s so many opportunities for us in the beauty industry, whether you’re a nail technician, or a lash technician, to go out and do further things.

“Whether it be training or opening supply businesses, you’ve got to put time and effort into the content – then you’ll reap the rewards from it.”
