One of Australia’s largest music festivals will return to the Gold Coast and its organisers are promising the “biggest line-up of stars” in the event’s history.
The first roll call for Blues on Broadbeach 2025 dropped on Thursday, with ’90s rock band The Cruel Sea headlining with hits like The Honeymoon’s Over and new tracks from their upcoming album Straight Into The Sun.
American singer-songwriter Eli Paperboy Reed and New York Grammy-nominated group The Harlem Gospel Travelers will share the spotlight, bringing what festival director Mark Duckworth called “soulful energy” to the major Gold Coast event.
“The 2025 line-up is the perfect celebration of Australia’s blues heritage, alongside an exciting mix of new talent, blending together into our massive program,” he said.
“We are stoked to host the soulful energy of international guests Eli Paperboy Reed and
New York’s Harlem Gospel Travelers (recently Grammy nominated for the Best Roots Gospel Album) here on the Gold Coast. They’ll bring something special to the Blues on
Broadbeach stages.”
Reed said he was “truly honoured” to be one of the headliners at the May 15 to 18 event, promising fans a “weekend to remember”.
“I can’t wait to spend time on the beautiful Gold Coast, reconnecting with my Australian fans,” he said.
“This time I’m bringing my all-new show featuring the incredible Harlem Gospel Travelers.”
Mayor Tom Tate said the City had worked hard to create one of the most “vibrant events calendars of any city in Australia”.
“Topping the bill is Blues on Broadbeach and 2025 promises to be the biggest line-up of stars in history,” he said.
Other acts include Diesel, Bondi Cigars, Steph Strings, Stefan Hauk, Queenie, Rod Paine & the Fulltime Lovers, Rhiannon Simpson, Pete Cornelius, Don Hopkins, Alphastomp and The Meltdown.
