Derelict Gold Coast house in Southport gutted by flames
A two-storey house has been gutted by fire this afternoon, with emergency services fighting to stop the fire from spreading. It’s the latest in a series of house fires across the city in recent months. SEE THE VIDEO

A TWO-storey house has been gutted by fire this afternoon, with emergency services fighting to stop the fire from spreading.
Firefighters were called to the derelict house on the corner of Little Norman and Stevens streets just before 1pm to find it fully engulfed.
Multiple crews are on scene.
Surrounding homes near the two story house have been blocked off with police tape.
Police have stopped vehicles from driving along Stevens Street and the Gold Coast highway near the home.
It’s the latest in a series of house fires in Southport in recent years.

In October an abandoned Gold Coast house once earmarked for redevelopment was gutted by fire.
The Eugaree St property went up in flames on October 31, destroying much of the ageing dwelling’s interior.
On Anzac Day last year another Southport house was gutted by fire on North Street.
In late 2017 a Meyer St house was destroyed by fire.
