Buyer in box seat for sale

David Wang, whose group opened the Peninsula Hotel in Shanghai in 2009, is believed to be the party undertaking due diligence on a whole city block on the northern side of the QT Hotel in Surfers Paradise.

The Surfers block is owned by Melbourne investor Alan Ali, who paid Korea’s Hyundai group $21 million for it in 2014.

AFL player looking to kick property goals

The former Gold Coast Suns football manager and wife Rebekah auctioned their Carrara home in 2018 but, when it didn’t sell, had it on the rental market at $2500 a week.

Bids on the home, built in 2015 and not far from the Suns’ home ground, are being sought again on Wednesday (March 3).

THE Sovereign Islands home of 69-year-old cosmetic surgeon Simon Rosenbaum has sold in a deal done more than a year after receivers were appointed to the company through which he owned it.

The $2.09 million sale of the Brittanic Crescent property by Rosetree Investments was signed up in December and settled earlier this month.

In November the city council moved to auction the property, bought by Simon for $1.9 million in 2013, over unpaid rates.
