A MULTIMILLION-DOLLAR venue on the Gold Coast waterfront will be opening early with a special event to mark the occasion this weekend.

Surfers Pavilion was set to open its doors in May but the team behind the Ferny Ave venue has pulled the project together close to a month early.

Operators Artesian Hospitality are celebrating their new venture by throwing their first event this long weekend, featuring internationally acclaimed DJs and producers, The Stafford Brothers.

“We cannot wait for our locals to come down and see the brand-new Surfers Pavilion. It is going to be a big weekend of celebrations for sure,” said Artesian Hospitality managing partner Matthew Keegan.

“Surfers Pavilion is set to host the Gold Coast’s best Sunday session at our weekly Sunset Sundays.

“Our massive new deck area provides the ideal location to watch the sunset, have a cocktail and enjoy beats from our DJs.

The pavilion in the heart of the Surfers Paradise is capitalising on its waterfront location by offering an expansive menu of fresh and locally sourced seafood including fresh prawns, traditional fish and chips and platters, along with plenty of non-seafood dishes.

The $2.6 million waterfront venue will be trading from 11am until late across Thursday to Monday for the next two long weekends before moving to seven-day trading in May.

The chic new pavilion will soon boast a 400 sqm mooring, which will be complete in the coming weeks.

Chris and Matt Stafford are "super excited" to be back on the Gold Coast providing live entertainment.

"Sunset on Sunday at 5pm it will be going off. Two DJs I know are playing and it'll be pretty sweet," Chris said.

The cafe is open daily from 6am, serving up Blackboard Coffee and a menu boasting rustic and fresh food made using quality locally-sourced produce.

While Mr Swan said he expected customers to be lining up out his door for his freshly roasted coffee and delicious range of toasties, breakfast burritos, and fresh pastries, he guaranteed his cookies will be the star of the show.

“The cookies are made onsite and we will be rotating the flavours, and of course, ensuring we have plenty of the crowd favourites.”

The 155 sqm space is kitted out with handcrafted timber communal dining tables, cosy nooks and overlooks the grassy expanses of the Buckler Park playground.

Mr Swan said the location made the cafe ideal for parents and promised he’ll be catering for kids too.
