A permanent fixture of the Coast’s quirky night-life scene who is known for rocking a pink bikini has not been seen for several days, sparking concern.

Surfers Paradise icon David Buncombe - better known as Princess - has been hospitalised since Tuesday last week with a leg injury, the Bulletin understands.

Friend and resident Richard Davies said he was worried that he hadn’t seen Princess, who lives on the bustling streets of Surfers, since Tuesday, March 8.

“We haven’t seen (Princess) since then – no one knows what’s going on,” Mr Davies said.

“(Princess is) a nice person and doesn’t harm anyone.

“(He’s) a bit of an icon, we all look out for (Princess).”

It is understood the 61-year-old remains at Gold Coast University Hospital.

The Surfers Paradise identity is known for rocking a pink bikini on the Glitter Strip and is a permanent fixture of the Coast’s quirky night-life scene.

In October, long-time resident and businessman Daniel Yelkovan offered to donate money to help Princess rent an apartment close by.

But sadly, due to the Coast’s housing shortage crisis, Princess remained living on the streets.

In 2014, Princess told the Bulletin he wanted to marry popstar Kylie Minogue.

“I went to Phillip Island and saw a photo of Kylie Minogue in a window and I started to believe Kylie was the girl I was looking for,” he said at the time.

Earlier this year, the identity was named in the Bulletin’s list of top 10 cult figures.

The Bulletin has contacted Gold Coast Health for comment.

A homeless service is looking after the 61-year-old’s belongings.
