Burleigh Heads crime: Children charged after discovery of stolen items in Gold Coast home
Six people including three children have been charged after police found a large amount of allegedly stolen items at a Gold Coast home.

SIX people including three children have been charged after police executed a search warrant at a Gold Coast property, finding a large amount of allegedly stolen items.
The search warrant was executed at a Burleigh Heads residence on Tabilban St by officers from Taskforce Latro, after investigations into numerous recent break-and-enter and stealing incidents in the area.
The allegedly stolen items found during the search included a number of power tools, tablet computers and accessories, a bicycle, and a small quantity of cannabis, methylamphetamine and drug utensils.
Three children aged between 14 and 15 are among those charged.
A 41-year-old Burleigh Heads man was charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possessing a drug utensil.
He was issued a Notice to Appear (NTA) at the Southport Magistrates Court on July 21.
A 40-year-old Burleigh Heads woman was charged with one count of possessing tainted property and one count of possessing a drug utensil.
She was issued a NTA at the Southport Magistrates Court on August 5.
A 25-year-old Burleigh Heads man was charged with one count of possessing a drug utensil, one count of receiving tainted property and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon, alleged to be a taser torch. He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on August 18.
A 14-year-old Nerang boy was charged with four counts of possessing tainted property and two counts of enter premise and commit offence.

A 13-year-old Burleigh Heads girl was charged with four counts of possessing tainted property, two counts of enter premise and commit offence, one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle and one count of possessing a drug utensil.
A 15-year-old Burleigh Heads girl was also charged with one count of possessing a drug utensil.
Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Garrett said police were committing significant resources to investigating property thefts.
“Taskforce Latro is a team of investigators that look specifically at property related crime throughout the Gold Coast District,” he said.
“Theft is a criminal offence that can significantly disrupt the livelihoods of the victims. No one wants to wake up in the morning to find their belongings have been stolen or their cars have been broken into.”
