Broadbeach crash: Major road closed after motorbike crash
Motorists are being urged to avoid the Broadbeach area after a motorbike and car collided on one of the Gold Coast’s busiest arterial roads.

A motorcyclist has died following a horror crash just after school finish on one of the Gold Coast’s busiest arterial roads.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the Bermuda Street area near Monaco Street following the crash about 3.20pm on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old motorcyclist was riding his black Honda CBR300R south on Bermuda Street when he crossed the median strip and into oncoming traffic just south of the Monaco Street bridge.
It was then the rider struck a white BMW station wagon.
The Varsity Lakes man died at the scene.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Bermuda Street near Fremar street about 3.20pm after the crash.
The incident has closed both northbound lanes and one of the southbound lanes of Bermuda Street at the worst possible time – shortly after school getting out and right before peak hour.

A black helmet was seen lying on the ground near the scene of the crash.
The black motorbike was lying on its side near the back of a white car.
Debris could be seen both on the road and in the grass of a nearby park including a work boot, a part of the car’s bumper, and various other vehicle-related pieces.
Traffic on adjoining roads was banked up.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
