IN exciting news for kids of all ages, iPlay is opening at Harbour Town Shopping Centre just in time for the summer school holidays.
Located next to Reading Cinemas, iPlay Harbour Town is a brand new store with a range of the latest arcade games matched with retro favourites.
A tentative opening date is December 18, but it’s understood the arcade will definitely be open before Christmas.

From Daytona, to air hockey and NBA basketball, there’s also games such as Jurassic Park, Lane Master, Midnight Maximum Tune DX5, Big Sweet Land, Walking Dead, Piano Keys, and Quik Drop.
The arcade will also host birthday parties from mid-January, with food optional and supplied by nearby Crafty’s Sports Bar.
The Harbour Town arcade will complement the iPark Adventure in Coomera Westfield and The Park Coomera, a bowling alley, mini golf and pizza place.
DATES ANNOUNCED FOR BLUES ON BROADBEACH FESTIVAL
TOMMY Emmanuel and Christine Anu will be among the headline acts when the biggest free music event in Australia returns to the Gold Coast next year.
After being cancelled this year because of COVID-19, Blues on Broadbeach will be held from May 20-23 in 2021.
The festival’s line-up will include world-renowned guitarist Emmanuel, New Zealand roots and reggae band The Black Seeds, and singer-songwriter Anu, who will perform a tribute act to the late Aretha Franklin.
Festival director Mark Duckworth said Blues on Broadbeach had attracted a new audience with a virtual concert called Bandwidth it held to replace live gigs this year.

“We had a really good audience for the virtual event and received international interest that we weren’t expecting from areas like Paris, the US and the UK,” he said.
“We’ll continue to communicate with those international fans who are now connected with us but they probably won’t be able to join us next year.
“The team are really excited to get live music back on the streets of the Gold Coast.
“I’m sure the appetite is going to be there for live music and I think lots of people are really looking forward to the festival.”
Mr Duckworth said at one stage the Blues on Broadbeach team was uncertain if next year’s festival would go ahead, but it was able to plan for a COVID-safe event.
“We were scratching our heads at the end the last festival wondering what the event will look like next year,” he said.
“Luckily, the Queensland Government has given us framework to help us run the event safely.
“It’s been an interesting year for the acts, with most of them still continuing to perform but through online concerts.
“I know they’ll be keen to perform live once again.”
Also playing at next year’s event is Gold Coast band Heavy Wax, a seven-piece act which met in cover band Madison Kat.
“The songs we’re writing are a wide variety of music, from funk and soul to rock and scar,” vocalist Quin Samin said.
“We’ve been lucky in Queensland with COVID compared to many other places but the performance and tourism industries have suffered.
“It’ll be a great chance for those who were lucky enough to keep earning an income during the period to help out others who couldn’t.”
