A BEACHFRONT home in Mermaid Beach’s Multi-Millionaires’ Row, sold by newsreader Eva Milic for $14.5 million less than a year ago, has re-sold for $3 million more.
The 33 Hedges Ave property has been bought by Brisbane-based mining industry figure Tom Peever and wife Kirsten.
Property records show the purchase, via company The Peever Family Office, was the subject of a quick settlement.
The off-market result is a rapid win for Richard and Penny-Anne Burgess, who signed up for the home on New Year’s Eve 2021 and paid for it in April this year.
The couple, on the heels of the buy, quickly sold a beachfront duplex apartment in the same street for $8.25 million – it was bought from former ANZ Bank chief John McFarlane for $4 million in 2015.
Eva Milic and her husband, developer Marcus Dore, built their three-level home on a 405sqm site bought for $4.4 million in 2018.
Mr Peever, who heads Elution Metals and has had previous roles with companies such as BHP, OK Tedi, Peabody and Glencore, and his wife have secured a property with five bedrooms and six bathrooms.
The property was not advertised and the agents believed to be involved in the deal – Kollosche’s Michael Kollosche, Harry Kakavas and Danny Stanley – would not comment.
The Peever entity signed up for the home on November 10 and settled the buy 20 days later.
