A severe weather warning issued for the Gold Coast earlier today has been downgraded this evening.
The Bureau of Meteorology says the immediate threat of severe storms has passed.
However forecasters advised that storms could develop quickly again, as happened on Tuesday evening.
The Gold Coast has experienced storm activity over the last couple of days and high temperatures and periodic storms are forecast to continue until Saturday.
