MEDICAL experts are warning Gold Coasters not be complacent about hygiene or they risk a more dangerous wave of COVID-19 hitting the city as restrictions keep easing.
Dr Lisa Beecham, the Board director of the Gold Coast Primary Health Network, fears an outbreak of coronavirus worse than the first will return if Gold Coasters get complacent with hygiene and social distancing.
“It’s still going to be circulating in the community at low levels and it could get out of control again,” Dr Beecham warned.
“We are nervous and we are watching and we are still telling everyone to be vigilant, observant and do everything we say.”
