The cultural kaleidoscope that is Golden Plains heltd its 17th edition over the long weekend and there was no denying who the showstopper was.
Bathed in glorious sunshine for much of its three days, the famous Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre came alive once more with Australian singer-songwriter Thelma Plum dazzling revellers with tracks from her second album on Saturday night.
Irish post-punk phenom Fontaines DC and Indiana crooners Durand Jones and The Indications were other notable internationals booked to grace the stage on Sunday evening, but it was British polymath PJ Harvey who really let Golden shake.

One of the world’s pre-eminent artists, Harvey delivered a striking performance in front of a wide-eyed audience in her first Australian tour in eight years.
“I came for PJ. End of story,” Pascoe Vale’s Katie Seadon said.
“She’s one of the best to ever do it.”
Harvey played a selection of songs off her most recent and 2023 Grammy-nominated album, I Inside the Old Year Dying.
The enigmatic collection delves into the depths of her upbringing in Dorset, a sweeping county in England’s southwest.
Occasional lightning across the cool night sky atop Meredith bushland was the perfect backdrop.
“She’s got an aura,” said Danielle Slattery, who has travelled from Fremantle to attend the festival.
Harvey recently played to rave reviews in Perth’s Kings Park.
“There is something special about this hill,” she said.
“It seems fitting she’ll play here.”
Belgian electronic duo 2manydjs, from Soulwax fame, brought in the early hours with a two-hour set from midnight.
The festival concludes on Monday afternoon.
