Police are investigating a suspicious blaze at an Eastern Beach cafe’s storage shed overnight.

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a cafe at Geelong’s Eastern Beach.

Emergency services were called to The Pavilion on Eastern Beach Rd about 1am on Friday.

The fire tore through a storage shed next to the brick building.

As many as eight fire crews were at the scene, taking about 30 minutes to bring the flames under control.

Police said no one was inside at the time of the blaze.

“Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the fire which is being treated as suspicious at this stage,” a police spokeswoman said.

But it was still business as the usual on Friday morning with customers enjoying a morning coffee.

The area had been taped off and police officers were guarding the scene about 7.30am.
