Geelong woman Kenisha Whistance started bloody brawl at The Inn Hotel over bathroom line

A patron at The Inn Hotel had to step in and pull a Geelong woman away from a violent brawl she started after telling a woman she was going to defecate in her shoes.

A Geelong woman started a bloody brawl at a pub in the city’s CBD after telling another woman she was going to defecate in her shoes.

Kenisha Whistance, 24, threw a drink and then lunged towards two women at The Inn Hotel in Corio St, sparking a violent brawl which ended with both victims bruised and bloody.

Whistance stomped on one of the women while she was being assaulted by a co-accused man.

She was also accused of elbowing one of the women, kicking one and pulling one of the women’s hair with “such force” that she was thrown backwards to the ground.

Whistance only stopped when an unknown person stepped in.

She pleaded guilty to the assault charges and more at the Geelong Magistrates Court, including a charge of making a threat to kill.

Police said the brawl began when Whistance and the co-accused were “loitering” outside the bathroom and were told to hurry up.

Annoyed, Whistance said: “maybe I need to take a s**t, maybe I’ll s**t in your shoes.”

She later told police she was “just trying to break up a fight”.

Whistance was also in court on Tuesday for charges relating to a relationship breakdown.

The court heard she ran toward her ex-partner and his new girlfriend in May 2021 and threatened to “kill” the woman.

In a text message sent to her ex-boyfriend later that day, Whistance said: “you know I would destroy her, you are both c***s”.

Whistance hit the man’s hand away when he told her to go home.

The next month, Whistance walked up to the couple at the Corio Village food court and told her ex-boyfriend he was “lucky I don’t punch your girlfriend in the head”.

When questioned by police, Whistance denied threatening to kill the new girlfriend but admitted sending the abusive messages to her ex-boyfriend because she was “fed up, frustrated and angry”.

“What’s her problem?” Magistrate John Bentley asked.

“This is the sort of behaviour of a teenage boy.

“What’s the problem here (because) it’s very violent.”

Whistance’s lawyer, Matilda Jones, said her client had “unaddressed” mental health issues that triggered the offending and had been unable to look for services because of full-time parenting responsibilities.

Mr Bentley disputed this, telling the court Whistance had managed to “find herself in pubs and other places” despite being a mother.

Whistance was placed on a community corrections order.

Mr Bentley warned her a breach of the community corrections order would risk a harsher penalty at the re-sentence.

“Offences of this nature normally warrant jail time so take it seriously,” Mr Bentley said.
