A “sunset supervisor” influencer role is up for grabs on Fitzroy Island, where one lucky content creator will get to monitor the island’s idyllic scenery for four days of hard ‘work’.
“We’re on a global scale with our sunsets,” Fitzroy Island Resort maintenance manager Chris Norris said.
“The (supervisor) will be just making sure that the sunsets are beautiful for our guests and … making sure our guests are comfortable here.”
The role is one of the first available on employment platform Employment Hero’s new jobs app and website, which marketing lead Monica Hu said was built for the “modern way of finding jobs”.
“We wanted to use this (role) as an opportunity to champion the younger generation,” Ms Hu said.
“We know that the job market has been quite tumultuous over the last couple of years, but we have seen that year-on-year hiring in the Gen Z space is growing.”
The sunset supervisor role will be a four-day, three-night experience, including flights and accommodation as a part of a package valued at more than $4000.
The supervisor’s role will be to “monitor” the sunset each night and ensure the “comfortability” of guests, as well as create content for the resort and Employment Hero.
Employment Hero has already received more than 750 applications for the role.
Ms Hu said Employment Hero data showed Queensland was leading Australia in the hiring of Gen Z members, increasing 15.3 per cent year on year, with a national increase of 15.9 per cent year on year.
Across Queensland, there are 32,000 businesses using Employment Hero.
The EH jobs app has functions similar to those found on apps such as Google Maps and TikTok, and matches job seekers with roles based on skills and experiences, with the option to include a video introduction and communicate directly with employers.
“(The app) will be really helpful for Gen Zs because that’s how they expect to interact now, through these apps, making it super easy, but anyone can use it,” Ms Hu said.
Acting resort operations manager Rodney Chamma said Gen Z was at the “top of the list” for prospective employees on the island, given the array of activities the destination offered.
“We have a lot of Gen Zs applying for roles here, and it’s a perfect location for them, really,” Mr Chamma said.
“It’s spectacular scenery everywhere … we’ve got rainforest walks, we’ve got nature, we’ve got sunsets … snorkelling, there’s so much for them to do here.”
Applicants must reside in Australia and be over 18. To apply for the role, visit www.employmenthero.com
