Man hospitalised after one-punch attack in Surfers Paradise

A man in his 50s was left with a concussion after being coward punched in front of a popular Gold Coast bar.

A MAN has been hospitalised after being struck by a brutal coward punch at Surfers Paradise.

The 52-year-old man from Molendinar was punched by a 44-year-old man at the front of The Island Bar about 11.30pm on Saturday night.

The assault was captured on camera and shows the man in his 50s being punched in the side of his head, before collapsing and hitting his head on the tramway.

One ambulance crew responded and transported the man – who was left concussed – to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The alleged attacker is due in at the Southport Magistrates Court on February 19 and has been banned from the Safe Night Precinct.
