A MAN has been charged after he allegedly lit a fire in a garage on the Gold Coast, causing the home to go up in flames.
A 33-year-old Pimpama man has been charged with arson.
Yesterday, emergency services were called to Brampton Court at 7.30am after reports of a house on fire.
The house was totally destroyed in the blaze, with neighbours evacuated until the fire was extinguished.

No one was injured and no other properties were damaged.
It’s believed the fire began in the garage, destroying a 2000 Suburu Impreza sedan.
The fire then spread to the rest of the house.
The 33-year-old man will appear at Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
