A Gold Coast hairdresser has been jailed for striking a man with a car at a major intersection after he posted something she did not like on social media.
Karla Jessica Condon drove into the man as he stood on a traffic island in Broadbeach about 8pm on December 14 before reversing and driving home, a court was told.
She pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court yesterday to dangerous driving and failing to remain at a road incident.

The 30-year-old, who came into court with no criminal history, became teary-eyed after learning she would be spending the next three months behind bars.
CCTV footage of the incident captured by a street camera played in court shows Condon making a u-turn at the intersection of Gold Coast Highway and TE Peters Drive and driving onto a traffic island to strike the man.
The impact caused the man to roll over the car’s bonnet.

Police prosecutor Constable Lewis said Condon had given the man – who is the partner of one of her friends – a ride to the casino earlier in the night and became angry after he posted about her onto his Instagram story.
Condon had informed people she would not be out that evening and the post showed otherwise, the court was told.
Defence lawyer Mollie Roper said the pair had a “toxic relationship” and she had planned to report him to police over harassment.
“There were a few instances where he posted content publicly that was demeaning to my client,” Ms Roper said.
Condon texted the man “I swear to God you are gone mate” prior to striking him, the court was told.

Magistrate Jane Bentley said Condon had deliberately hit him.
“You used your car as a weapon,” Ms Bentley said.
Condon was sentenced to 12 months in jail and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
She will be released on parole on November 27.
