Gold Coast crime: Knife-wielding attack on Varsity Lakes bus

A 20-year-old man was threatened and stabbed on a bus in Varsity Lakes last night.

A 20-year-old man was threatened and stabbed multiple times on a Gold Coast bus in Varsity Lakes bus last night. 

Emergency services responded to reports of a knife-wielding attack on a Gold Coast bus at 6pm travelling along Yodelay Street in Varsity Lakes.

The young Palm Beach man was assaulted with a knife, and sustained injuries to his face, hand and shoulder. He was transported to Gold Coast University Hosptial for treatment.

The offender fled from the bus with the victims’ backpack, south along Yodelay Street.

No one else was physically injured.

Queensland Police urged if anyone witnessed the incident or anything suspicious in the area at the time to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
