THE new owners of a northern Gold Coast corner store have been left devastated after thieves ransacked the businesses in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The brazen thieves made off with thousands of dollars worth of stock after smashing their way into the Helensvale Convenience store on Mildura Drive.
Owners Nate Jeisman and his fiancee Becky Mackay only purchased the store five months ago and have been working hard to grow the business to support their four young children.

It is estimated the pair of men who set upon the store at 5.30am on Sunday stole more than $7000 worth of cigarettes, a few cases of Red Bull and more than a thousand lighters.
The pair got away in a Silver Mazda CX5 with stolen number plates.
“They came prepared with full knowledge of what they were going to do,” Mr Jeisman told the Bulletin.
“They had wire cutters and were able to break through the door completely.
“They hit a few other shops too so when we arrived in the morning, there were police everywhere.”

The store had to be closed for half a day while police swept for clues, costing the couple further business.
It was a cruel blow to the budget of the couple, who are saving for their wedding later this year.
“It is just disheartening, we have been working hard to make the shop a hub for the community and then this happens,” Mr Jeisman said.
“You work for your family and it makes you wonder the type of person is behind it.
“They can’t know our personal circumstances, but they take the opportunity to prey on us.”
The family now have the extra task of loading and unloading stock each night until damage to the shop’s door can be repaired.
“I despise the people who do this, I understand there are only certain ways some people can earn money but to do it off the back for families trying is all sorts of wrong,” Mr Jeisman said.
“I also understand police have to focus on the violent crimes but these people shouldn’t be able to get away with this just because they didn’t physically hurt anyone.
“I worry they are only just going to get a slap on the wrist.”
Police say the individuals responsible for the raid went on to break into two other stores in the complex.
Investigations into the matter are continuing and no arrests have been made.
